Meal Ordering and Delivery
When will my order arrive?
Do I need to be home to receive delivery?
No. Ourlife Fresh is all about convenience so we have made special arrangements for FedEx to leave your meal package without a signature release. When you return home, place your meals in proper refrigeration (35-40ºF) by midnight of the same day as delivery (Saturday). If you cannot be home by then, please make arrangements to have a friend or neighbor take them in for you.
Will all of my meals arrive at one time?
Yes, all Ourlife Fresh meals are shipped to you at one time giving you convenient access to a mouth-watering menu that’s as close as your own refrigerator.
Can I request a special order or make substitutions?
Yes, we will make substitutions for dietary restrictions and food allergies. In order to keep our prices as low as possible, we have designed the Ourlife Fresh menus as a chef’s choice offering and therefore cannot accommodate individual requests due to taste preferences. Our ultimate goal is to improve your eating habits using a variety of food for good nutrition.
What do I do for the weekends?
We provide five lunches and five dinners recognizing that you may not want to eat all of your meals at home or at the office. When the weekend comes, you may wish to prepare meals for yourself, go to a party, or enjoy dining out at a restaurant that will accommodate your dietary needs. Focus on portion control, healthy ingredients, and low-calorie preparation. The ultimate goal is for you to learn how to make healthy lifestyle choices on your own.
Meal Packaging and Preparation
How long will my meals stay fresh in the fridge?
Ourlife Fresh meals are prepared and packaged in flavor-fresh containers that are designed to optimize freshness. Each container has an “enjoy or freeze by” date clearly printed on the label. Simply follow our recommendations for best results.
Can I freeze my meals?
Yes. With the exception of our salad selections, Ourlife Fresh meals are designed to freeze in their flavor fresh packaging for up to 30 days. Simply thaw your frozen entrée in the fridge or use the defrost cycle on your microwave before following the heating instructions on the label.
How can you offer the delivery of fresh meals when most companies only deliver frozen meals?
Triple-insulated, flavor-fresh packaging allows Ourlife Fresh to send fresh, not frozen meals right to your doorstep. Fresh delivery means that each meal is packaged and shipped within hours of preparation in our spotless, licensed and routinely inspected commercial kitchen.
I prefer oven heating–can I heat my entrées in the oven?
Most definitely! While all entrées are microwave-tested, you can also cook them in your oven right in their own containers. For best results, we actually recommend oven heating for all of our beef and pork entrées. Where oven-heating directions are not included on the package label, simply follow these general oven-heating guidelines:

Follow label instructions for steam venting the film-cover material. Place containers on a cookie sheet and put on center rack of a preheated oven. Carefully remove hot container and peel film cover away from you to avoid contact with escaping steam. Check for doneness and enjoy.
Are your meals very spicy?
No, we prepare our cuisine to appeal to a wide range of tastes and that is why the Ourlife Fresh meals are very flavorful but never more than medium hot.
Special Medical / Dietary Needs
Do you offer low glycemic index foods on your menu?
Yes. Ourlife Fresh meals are designed around the glycemic index (GI). This scientific index measures foods on a scale from 0-100. The GI measures the response that food has on raising our blood sugar, thus causing a rise of insulin to the bloodstream. The higher the number the faster the sugar gets into your blood stream and the more insulin your pancreas is called upon to regulate your blood sugar. The goal is to eat foods that are lower on the GI index such as beans, legumes, wholegrain breads, rice, as well as fruits and vegetables, which is exactly what Ourlife Fresh offers.
I have GERD, are the Ourlife Fresh meals suited to that condition?
Actually GERD should improve on the Ourlife Fresh plan. Guidelines for treating GERD are:
- Eat smaller portions as not to overload at any meal
- Lose weight
- Lower fat intake
- Do not eat just before bedtime
- Eat slowly
- Avoid individual heartburn triggers such as soda, coffee, tomatoes, citrus fruits or juices, chocolate, caffeine, pepper, hot sauces, garlic, onions, and spearmint or peppermint
Ourlife Fresh is not highly seasoned and is also low in fat and sodium. The meals are smaller portions for calorie control, which addresses many of the triggers for GERD. In addition, by learning your specific heartburn trigger foods and avoiding or reducing consumption of them you should experience a significant decrease in your symptoms.
